Beware the freedoms bestowed
By a jackal posing as a saviour
My intentions to show this as such
Were proven to be pointless.

The semblance of 2019 haunted me
As a travelled from my abode
When I could have felt elated
My being felt carved from stone.

What had been a recognition in Fall
Now became a declaration to stand
Against the driving divisions
Ruling sea, air and land.

Fomenting the path of empathy
Ahead of worry and concern
Trusting the moral arc of justice
As the universal law begins to bend.

Affirming to natures will above law
Not contented or emotionally stoic
I fluctuate with the tides of God
In whichever form you take it.

Staring in the eyes of the shadow cast
Illuminating its pitch with the light
Of knowledge and cognizance
Knowing that seasons are our friends.
