The space to allow infinity to roam
Opened my heart, to look with its eyes
Ordinary life was now beatific, alive
Tremors from a lifetime ago had room to rise.

She moved like she was ancient and wise
Her form held the memories of that life
Though she was removed from the ocean’s depths
Dwarka resonated in her every breath.

I had loved her then when the seas were low
Now my soul recognised her eminence again
Her deep blue skin a recollection of dreams
A canvas, a constellation, her home in her eyes.

Spouting helplessly how I adored her smile
I wilted when she offered me a connection
Beyond what words can share, I relented
Boundaries erected in my overwhelming fear.

Awe and desire gripped my attention
I was torn between holding space and giving in
The consequences of relinquishing to rush
Could never console my Mauritanian lust.

In her presence the epoch we knew
Where Lord Krishna’s Golden port city
Filled my existence till I could not discern
Which life I was living, then or now.
